The Origin Of April Fool's Day.

Image
Alfred, in late fifties.  Many people don't know the origin of April Fool's Day but it  all began in 1836. There  was a man, Alfred, in Yorkshire who was the only son of his ailing parents. Alfred generally was a stubborn and mischievous child. When he was twenty-five years, he played a prank on his parish pastor by hiding behind a thick brush on the way that led to the church. When the unsuspecting pastor reached the place where Alfred was hiding, he began to hear strange sounds. The pastor paused in his tracks and listened carefully then he discovered that what the strange voice was saying was that his church would collapse in an hour's time and that everyone  in the church, including himself would be killed.  Alfred cleverly muffled his voice such that it sounded as if he was far away and not human. After hearing this, the pastor thought it  was a revelation from God so he quickly ran to the church where the choir was already singing the opening hymn, awaiting

TEF 2019 Candidates List.

https://community.tefconnect.com/t/how-painful-is-it/16248 Very painful I guess. If you applied for TEF grants 2019 but was not shortlisted, I sympathize with you. Especially if your idea is so bright and wonderful that it fills your head till you feel as if your head will explode from the sheer intensity of it. This is one of the sound lessons in life. Most times in this life, we don't get what our hearts desperately desires. A lot of forces could be blamed for this. It could be: 1. Spiritual (If you are the religious type) 2. Luck (If you are religious as well) 3. Your fate  (If you are the type who believes in such). OR 4. Your Mistake. Of the four (4) points listed above, I'll only talk about the last one (I'm too practical to believe so strongly about the other three, they are for the religious).   One of the reasons why you were probably not considered for this year's grant could be as a result of  what you have done wrong in the process of the a

How To Excel As A Student.

HeavenOasis. How To Excel As A Student. Being a student is one of the most beautiful things that could happen to anyone in this life. Well, maybe not everyone sees it this way, but majority of people think that life would be extremely boring without a school. If there's no school, there won't be a student. At the early stages of our lives, we see school as a an object of attraction and an escape from the familiar faces in the family. We throw all our weights behind all school's activities and programs because we were having fun. But these joys are always short lived the moment we know about grades and how it determines people's perception of our intellect. The stronger ones among us would want to impress the people around us that we are special; so we work extra miles just to prove that we are brilliant. So we read at every opportunity that we have even while others are playing. Others who are not so strong will accept the fact that maybe they are not so brill

Why Am I Here?

Image
Why Am I Here? Why am I here? Many a times we do things and go to some places without knowing the exact reason why we are doing what we do or why we go to such places. Why am I here is a question every young lady should ask herself. Many a times, we walk with some people and those ones don't add to us but because we don't want be seen as a 'SU' we keep on moving with them and at the end lose out of God's blessings for us and plenty of regret follows until we find our way back to our maker who in turn reminds us the reason why we are being created. Esther was a young lady like us who forgot the reason why she was in the palace but thanks to God for her uncle who reminded her by telling her that probably she was in the palace for a time like that. And guess what she came back to her senses and said a powerful word that all of us should emulate "if I die I die" and at the end victory was hers and her people's.  To our generation now we need to
