The Origin Of April Fool's Day.
Alfred, in late fifties. Many people don't know the origin of April Fool's Day but it all began in 1836. There was a man, Alfred, in Yorkshire who was the only son of his ailing parents. Alfred generally was a stubborn and mischievous child. When he was twenty-five years, he played a prank on his parish pastor by hiding behind a thick brush on the way that led to the church. When the unsuspecting pastor reached the place where Alfred was hiding, he began to hear strange sounds. The pastor paused in his tracks and listened carefully then he discovered that what the strange voice was saying was that his church would collapse in an hour's time and that everyone in the church, including himself would be killed. Alfred cleverly muffled his voice such that it sounded as if he was far away and not human. After hearing this, the pastor thought it was a revelation from God so he quickly ran to the church where the choir was already singing the openin...
